After the United States enters World War I and helps to defeatGermany, President Wilson tries to fashion a lasting peace. As the war intensifies, the U.S. is forced to abandon its neutrality. The U.S. joins the fight and helps the Allies achieve a victory. The war spurs social, political, and economic change in the U.S.
